When Obama has to go negative and fight against McCain, how will this help down ballot Georgia Democratic candidates? Some of the not so prevailing wisdom is that Obama will help Georgia candidates because Obama has a grassroots plan. Does this grassroots plan involve getting more independents to vote for Democrats or is it a plan to get nonvoting Democrats to the polls? The number of independent Georgia voters definitely outweigh the number of nonvoting Democrats. I think its a pretty silly response to “hope” that a candidate’s grassroots plan includes what your state needs to move Democrats into power.

The one group that Obama hasn’t been able to sway with his message is working-class whites. Now if you live in Georgia, ya kinda notice that there are a lot of working class white folks who vote. So if the leader of the Hope Brigade isn’t swaying them now, how will he sway them in November 2008? Does he throw away the “make me feel so warm and fuzzy” hope and change rhetoric to gain their support?

Just some questions I was pondering.

mmmm… not sure we need to assume that he “has” to go negative.

It really hasn’t been the reason for his success, and he’s has no problem getting votes and money without doing so.

Personally if McCain and his surrogates come with automatic weapons, sure maybe a response, but for right not I’m ok with him not responding any school yard bully with same.

Haven’t we had enough of all that?

OH I know we bashed Kerry endlessly for not responding, but I’m not sure I get the need in this year with this political environment.

Ecomony suck=Bush’s mis management

War is soaking us=human loss blamed on Bush

Washington gridlock=Carl Rove style

The man is old with a hot temper, frankly he’s more likely to snap than BO.

I could go on.

At any rate, I’m not ready to conceed that 7 months out we need to be negative as the only response.

Look how well that worked for us here in 2006- Mark and Cathy anyone.
