The five month bubble bath.

While I know 2004 was much different, with Kerry the presumptive nominee so early in the game, I am sorry that the mood isn’t similar. For those of you who have been hiding under a rock, I was a Dean supporter in 2004. You would think the move from Dean to Kerry would have been difficult and unlikely. And, it would have been but for very kind, generous, and welcoming people among the Kerry supporters here in Georgia. Sure, there were jokes about “the scream” but our ideas and willingness to work were welcomed and encouraged.

Who knew the “good ole days” would be just one cylce back? The five month bath sounds good. Or maybe I’ll read all the John LeCarre books I have piled up on the bench? Or teach myself how to make really good bread? Or, better yet, help Representative John Lewis, State Senator Nan Orrock, Bill Gillespie, Keith Gross, and other candidates who welcome the support.

Hey, BHO is my fourth (!) candidate and I’m willing to welcome you on board.

Did I miss something here?

“…and other candidates who welcome the support.”

Do any of you think for a moment I or other Obama folks are not welcoming the support here in Georgia? God knows it is going to take all of us working together to get this done.

If anyone is running into ANY issues with Obama people, please let me know. I don’t have much pull but I know who to call.

Maybe I should have spoken up last week but to be honest, I wanted to wait rather than sound condecending to those that spent so much time and effort working for Hillary.

Well I’m helping Jason Adams and Jon Flack!

I await the 50 state Obama team members to help get me engaged for all that whoha. I wasn’t part of the primary process with this campaign so I really don’t have any connection one way or the other. So I can’t say I’d be welcomed or not.

However, I think it’s exciting that they are making this plan, now. Even though Kerry was the nominee we had to wait till after Labor Day for his point person to be assigned and it was chaos as all the groups formed, broke up, formed again, did the “meet-up” but not “do-Up” thing.. Not anxious to re-live that thanks.

For now, it think it’s completely understandable to want to have some down time.

I imagine by late August it will be very different, and we can hit the fall season running.

sndeak - yesterday I took a few minutes from my day to check in on the Georgia/Atlanta Obama website. There is not much of a welcoming feeling from the individual posters. Sure, there are official labels and marks all over saying “Thank you, Hillary” but when you drill down you find a lot of nastiness.

I’ve said it a number of times - I don’t think this anger/nastiness is coming from Senator Obama - it’s coming from some of his supporters. In any event, it doesn’t make me clamor out of work every day to go do something for the campaign.
