The National Association of Broadcasters spent a whopping $2.5 million in lobbying in the first quarter, according to a disclosure filed with the House clerk’s office.
Obviously it wasn’t all for opposing the proposed merger of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.with rival XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. The NAB also lobbied on the transition to digital television, fighting “whitespaces” use for high-speed wireless internet service, media ownership, and other issues.
Speaking of lobbying, . “Hopefully they’ll get more out of the lyrics to the songs than just the $16 billion in advertising revenue.”
