AJC story:
Here’s an idea, how about the people who ride MARTA get to decide if guns should be allowed on MARTA.

So I have a question, does this mean we will have gun tot’n crazy Cobb rednecks riding Marta? Oh yeah Marta doesn’t go to Cobb.
Oy, and who does this make happy again? Clearly I’m confused

It’s still illegal to eat on MARTA, tho, right?

With equal protection under the law, I’m sure that our Legislators will agree that this logic makes metal detectors at the Capitol and court houses obsolete. (Why the double standard?)

Does that mean you can shoot someone for eating on MARTA if you feel threatened by their cheeseburger?

I know republicans love their guns, but I also thought they loved minimal gov’t and private property as well. Sonny can’t sign a bill forcing restaurants to allow patrons to carry their concealed weapons inside. This is the biggest reason this bill makes me sick - yet another example of the crazies that are taking over the party.
At least I can see the Marta and State park argument, since these are gov’t run. However, in their haste to allow weapons on Marta, I don’t think they thought everything through. Many employers/schools/sports areanas do not let weapons on their property, unless Sonny changed that too. Unless I’m mistaken, many of the Marta patrons I sit next to every morning and night are heading to either work, school, or the Braves game, and, thus, would not be able to carry a weapon even if they wanted to. So where does that leave us? The other people who ride marta. Republicans would probably be quick to call them the thugs, gangsters, and rif-raf. And, lets face it, some of them are. They would be the ones with the ability to carry a weapon on marta. Smart thinkin’ there purr-doo.
I guess it’s time to put my military grade mace back in the bag.

Lets not forget that Dubose Porter and Rob Teilet were right there with those “Republican crazies” in voting for this bill.
